Join expert property lawyer, author and lecturer, Russell Cocks, as he explores changes to conveyancing law as a result of the State Taxation Act and other Amendments Act 2023, including a prohibition on adjustments for land tax as well as existing windfall gains tax liabilities. Russell will also cover the expansion of Victoria’s vacant residential land tax regime. A variety of relevant cases will also be discussed throughout the session.

This session will assist property lawyers looking to refresh their knowledge of current developments.

 

Speaker bio:

Russell Cocks has provided information to the profession on Property Law matters for 35 years. He taught at Deakin University in Land Law and has conducted seminars around Victoria.

Russell has written over 100 Property Law columns in the Law Institute Journal and has published ‘1001 Conveyancing Answers’ and ‘Essential Conveyancing Answers’.
