Building a better section 32 statement
Every year LPLC sees claims involving defective section 32 statements under the Sale of Land Act 1962 (Vic). In this session we will consider the five most common mistakes and assist attendees develop methods to build a better section 32 statement.
Time will also be spent explaining how to get the most out of the LPLC Key Risk Checklist, 'Sale of land - questions for the vendor'.
Contract of sale tune-up
Conveyancing claims were approximately 30 per cent of all claims for 2018/2019 and are estimated to cost approximately $10 million. A number of these claims are due to errors in contracts of sale.
Contracts of sale are important documents in a conveyance so it is essential that firms get them right.
In this session we will consider the issues seen by the LPLC in contracts of sale and tips will be provided on how to avoid these claims.
